Introducing Social Mousebreaker…

Wednesday 21st October was an important day for Mousebreaker. And not just because I finally got close to the 100,000 points I need to register a high-score on City Clicker.
After months of internal design and testing, we released the first iterations of a more social Mousebreaker live onto the site. You may have noticed a little Facebook Connect log-in box on the side of the page. Click it, it won’t bite.
Once you click it, agree to the connect Facebook with Mousebreaker, you’ll see something like this (only without the handsome fella in the box. The yellow hairy one, not the guy on the right):
Which is all very nice, “but what does MyMB actually do?”, I hear you cry. Well, at this stage MyMB does two things, but we’re very much open to new features if demanded. These are:
- Allows you to check your scores against your Facebook friends on Mousebreaker’s high-score enabled games (if it says ‘view highscores for [GAME]‘ underneath the game, it should work)
- Allows you to earn daily medals based on your performance in the games
The friends thing is pretty nifty. Because it’s all intergrated with Facebook, you don’t need to track down your friends all over again. If they’ve played on Mousebreaker while logged in, their scores on games will show up in your profile, so you can know once and for all who is the best at sneaking out of offices/playing pool with explosives/catapulting Cristiano Ronaldo across Europe.
The medals is a little more complicated. When you submit a score, we’ll see how you do against other players of the game each day, and will give you a medal if you’re in the top group of players. You can win one medal on any game with highscores enabled (see above for how to pick ‘em out) in a day, and if you get a bronze it can be upgraded to a gold by getting a high enough score.
That medals total also gives us our leaderboard to see who is the best at/has the most time to waste on Mousebreaker. You may recognise the cheeky chap currently occupying number one slot:

So that’s the start of social Mousebreaker. What features would you like to see? Feedback in the comments or to enquiries@mousebreaker.co.uk please!

Interesting, (well, what I could read of it). I am color blind (protanopia in my case). I mostly use Chrome browser (unsure if that is of any importance), and much of this site is a little difficult for me to read. I know that it is not your problem really, but it would be great if you could consider color blind surfers whilst undertaking your next webpage re-working.
