I can’t work it out and now I can’t get past the first stage and it’s driving me crazy!
It’s all about timing and positioning – get your player in just the right place and click a little before the ball is in front of you. Try Overhead Kick Champion for more practice.
The good news is that overhead kicks in actual matches are pretty rare, and you don’t need to actually score to get past this stage. Just make contact.
the game is rubish it is unfair and hard to work out!! if you are 2-0 up you end up 5-2 down u cant win it is crap and windes people up

Its way too difficult to be fun, just connecting with an overhead kick is an achievement nevermind scoring one

I dont understand how you can score with a turn and shot chance
which detail is important that you can score with it?
It’s kind of frustrating that you work hard to get anything in this, and out of nowhere the game just says that you’ve gone and crashed your car, that you’ve been robbed, that you’ve been seen with models…I mean, where’s the interactivity gone?
This game had potential, but unfortunately I would have to give up everything else in my life to get any good at it.

Sounds frustrating, but matches like that happen – it’s realism.
ive gotten very good at all of the different shots. i reckon i score 2 out of three chances but still cant get promoted from div 2. How can you give someone two chances and the oposition scores three ??? so silly no matter how good you do you can score all your chances and still they score 1 more. seems you can do everything right in your attack but you have no control over your defence ?? It is called jumpers for goalposts.. isnt there a whole defensive thing you forgot ?? a bit silly to be honest
This game is frustrating. The ‘realism’ is governed by a series of random events which culminate in you losing 5-0 to Aldershot without getting a chance on goal. At first, you concede that this is the kind of thing to happen in football so you just laugh it off and move on. But it happens time and time again eventually wearing you down to a drooling bloody wreck, unconscious on the floor covered in the remains of your laptop.
The graphics don’t seem to be in sync with the games actual response. In training/matches, I often seem to net a goal which then is counted as a save. The keeper has some kind of invisible forcefield which spans the entire half of the goal he goes for. At most, you have a 50 percent chance to score a goal even with all skills mastered.
Turn and shoot, maybe headers are the only ones that can be mastered with skill and not luck, yet you’d still need to defy the kinetic power of the goalkeeper.
In short, a good arcade game for those with short attention spans and vast acres of patience. To improve, make success a little more attainable, make sure your graphics are properly aligned with the responses the game is giving.

I agree with practically everything Gregory Sampson-Fincklebury has said above. The game is great, but frustrating, the flaws mean the replay value is minimal – so when is JFGP 4 coming out?
I want to like this game so bad. But I just can’t do it. Way too hard to get promoted. You have no control over whether you win or lose and that makes for a very frustrating game. I’m out, time to play pinch hitter 3.
Great concept, dreadful game. The goalkeepers on this are superhuman-countless saves are made by trailing legs, sometimes when the keeper isn’t even anywhere near the ball! The passing is ridiculous-there should be a greater margin or a slower movement of the bar-if I had a penny for every time i clicked and the bar was literally a hairs breadth from the green zone and the pass went miles wide i’d be a millionaire. A lot of the time it depends on where your mouse is on the screen when the chance comes up…and then you have to deal with the manager getting pissed off aqt you for going to a massage parlour or throwing your shirt at the bench when being subbed off….despite having a chance in the 90th minute. Can we at least have a choice please?
Oh, and it wouldn’t be half as bad if every goal the opposition scored wasn’t some sort of wonder goal. It’s just plain frustrating.
And now i’ve been robbed of £10,000 and my manager approval rating has gone down to 20….how am I meant to get in the team?!

Good idea, poor gameplay. Frustrating, impossible to win, stuck in League 1/2 for 7 seasons, then relegated the next two seasons, loses it’s appeal after a while. Goalkeepers just save everything, while apparently your own teams ‘keeper is a quadraplegic. Unpredictable, unfair events mean any progress made is lost in the blink of an eye. Being given one opportunity (an overhead kick, or worse a header) while Morcambe or whoever knocks 4 or 5 past you. What’s the point in choosing your favourite club?
People want to play games they have a chance at suceeding in. This game would be good if simply made easier. Hoping #4 will be an improvement, but won’t be playing this one again.
How do the rankings work? is a 1/100 better or worse than a 20/100?

I think this game is shocking, i mean take penalties, the golie knows where youre going, the only thing u can master are headers with skill and not luck.
GFG4 must be satisfactory for a good rating
