Weekender… Top 5 Sim Games
Weekend, weekend, weekend! It’s the WEEKEND, people!
But before I go and crack on with mine (by which I mean lazing around doing nothing), I’m going to quickly rattle through this week’s weekender. Ever wondered what our top 5 sim games are? No?
Well I’m going to tell you anyway. Hold on tight…

Our big-budget Rock Band sim allowed people to create a fantasy band, tour and record chart-topping singles and albums, while battling with the standard things that have plagued musicians since Beethoven’s first ever gig (probably) – egos, strops and self indulgence. Can you take your band all the way to the top without falling out?

With Formula 1 season upon us once again, this great sim gets a relevancy boost. Pick a driver and crew, design the car and burn your way through the year’s races! Will you be on the podium when the winners are decided at the end of the season, or ruing missed opportunities?

It’s been a while since I’ve been a student, but if my hazy beer fuelled memories are anything to go by, our Student Sim is a pretty accurate offering! Can you balance partying with just the right amount of study and calorific takeaways to get the degree?

No longer as accurate as the student sim, thanks to the twisted wreck that was once our economy, but a few years ago the addictive Merchant Banker game was bang on the money. Combining the arcade mini-game of buying and selling shares with the schmoozing of making contacts, this game is far more than the sum of its parts!

Probably the least glamorous sim game ever created, we can at least claim to be original! It’s no less challenging though – you need to keep ordering in the ingredients to match customers’ tastes as the night progresses. For some reason, people’s taste buds get less sensitive as the evening goes on – wonder why. Can you end up with a profit?
