Tuesday Tips… TG Motocross

Another Tuesday, another Tuesday Tips. This week we’re looking at one of the most popular, long-lasting games on the site: TG Motocross.

(As an aside, I’m doing some work on a Mac today – and you have no idea how hard it was getting a useable screenshot, when one of the shortcut keys for screengrabbing is the same as ‘eject from bike’!)

So, here’s some tips to make sure you go the distance on our most popular bike balancing game:

- The timer doesn’t start until you press the throttle button, so give your bike time to hit the track before starting – you’ll just end up with a worse finishing time! For an even better chance, you can manoever your bike into the best possible position by leaning before hitting the pedal…

- It’s all about leaning – as a rule, leaning backwards will speed you up, and shave a couple of seconds off of your laptime!

- If you’re going into a jump that you don’t think you’ll make, try leaning inwards so that your front tire makes it. It won’t save you all of the time, but occasionally it may be just enough.

- When you approach a big jump, lean backwards for speed, then lean forwards when you leave the ground – this should help you get a bit of extra distance.

- If, after a jump, you’re going to be landing on on bumps on a steep slope, hold the brake as you land. This will stop you flipping over.

- When trying make sure you land your bike, it’s best to be leaning backwards if possible. Approaching the ground with your front wheel to your back at a 45 degree angle will ensure you land your jumps most of the time.

- Finally, the shift key will bail you off of your bike for quickly starting again (at the expense of a life.) It does mean you should make sure your fingers don’t trail over there if possible though!
