For Anyone in Doubt, Mascot Racing is Very Real…
When we published Football Mascot Race, some may have thought this to be another product from our fevered imaginations.
But no. Not so!
Yesterday was the annual football mascot race for charity. You can read more about it (and see a picture guaranteed to raise a smile) here, but the important info is that it’s a Nottingham triumph, with the Notts County mascot coming in first, and the Forest mascot in third. Between them was Billy Brewer of Burton Albion.
It’s a wonderfully surreal sight in any case – here’s the footage from the 2008 event:
