I have to say I’m super disappointed by this release. The game goes by too fast for you to even bother trying to read and follow the play. The free kicks are tedious and boring, and when you get a scoring chance in the game it pops up and goes by so quickly you have ZERO time to ready yourself.

Ryan, we’re a small team with limited resources for game testing. It’s always the way with big games like this that there’s going to be issues, no matter how long you spend trying to get them all – it was the same with Ultimate Football Manager. Scruff, sorry to hear you’re not a fan. We’ve been testing it for a couple of weeks with some diehard Jumpers for Goalposts fans and the feedback we got was overwhelmingly positives – around 80% saying it was the best in the series and an 8/10 or higher. I hope you give it another chance, but if you still don’t like it, then Jumpers for Goalposts 3 will always be on the site.

Second, I know that there is no way to get rid of all glitches/bugs but I found one that really needs sorting.

When you ask for a new contract and it gets increased, it doesnt say what it goes up to it just says: (cost)

1. Although I promoted with my club into premier league, no manager is interested in me.
2. Negotiating manager doesn’t work.
3. When I play the world cup, I cannot leave this mode. It always keeps repeating the one cup…
4. Although I score more than my teammates (what is cool that there scores more ppl than me), I have to train. Otherwise I may not in the formation.
5. Some achievements don’t show up when I reach them, like “5-star girlfriend”…
6. How do I win on penalties. Once the program decided who won; at anohter time, I had to play everything what you can train (overhead, penalty, ….) for winning..
7. What effect has a gift that you can make your girlfriend?
8. The same, what effect is there on buying stuff (except the farmhouse and the top level sportscar – altough that one doesn’t appear in the achievment when you buy one.)
9. The “flat” cross that is send over is hard to get.
10. Sometimes a season ends in the middle of a game.
11. The season begins up new when you change your team.
12. The game itself is quite unclear. What effect has the circle “possession”, especially when I score it becomes better for my team, when I don’t, it becomes worse…
13. You can hardly read yellow color on white screen, when you play a yellow-shirted team, and the dude announces something.

Please, keep enumerating, so the developer and people in general can take a stand on certain points.

Really enjoyed the game up until the point where i put in a transfer request and it just wipes out the full season and takes me back to the start of the season. My transfer request only stays in for about 4-5 weeks with my interest from other clubs rating at about 9.6/10, then all of my sudden when I visit my agent it gives me option to re-submit my transfer request, as if the initial one has been automatically withdrawn after 4-5 weeks and then if it do resubmit my transfer request, it resets and kicks me back to the start of the season again, very time making my player 1 year older and the year the game is on 1 year further into the future.

Honestly, a few bugs are fine but not bloody massive ones! When I go do train, it won’t tell me what my skills are out of 10, sometimes just the skill will appear with the overall bar saying 0%. Seasons restart, its happened 3 times in one season for me. And since when did mousebreaker resort to premium features? If anything it just makes me dislike the game more, as I know it could always be better, but I’d have to waste money on it! I do like the free kick feature, and I like the new option for a full or half season but on the whole the game i’m afraid is disappointing.

It’s a great game! Probably the best of the 4. It’s good how the game is not entirely reliant on the player to score/pass for a goal to be scored. One problem I found was with an achievement “30 Goals scored in one season” it was my second season, 2nd game. and I got the achievement. 1) Bugs! Yes, we know there’s bugs. Some big, some small – we’re on it. A new version will be up in the next few days (I’ll announce it here and on the Facebook group). Thanks for everyone reporting them – the detail helps us replicate, which helps us solve.

I’m sorry you guys had to deal with them, but it’s the nature of a game this size I’m afraid. There’s a lot of eventualities in this game, and testing them all is pretty much impossible without thousands of players, which is where we are now. Ultimate Football Manager was the same, but we fixed the big issues and everyone is pretty happy with it now – bear with us.

2) Mochi coins and extra leagues. We know everyone (including us – this game is a labour of love!) would like extra leagues to be free, but the truth is Jumpers for Goalposts 4 has been a huge investment, and we need to make sure it makes its money back so that Jumpers for Goalposts 5 will be better still.

Remember in Jumpers for Goalposts 1-3, you only got the top 4 English leagues. In this one you get that, the Dutch league and – if you like – a lot more. Seems like a win-win to me.

Ultimately nobody’s forcing you to spend money on the game, but players who want to support us and make Jumpers for Goalposts bigger can do. You’re free to play the game free of charge as many times as you like with way more content than we’ve offered before, and we won’t begrudge you for it.

Think this one is a bit too hard when in matches and too easy out of them.

I went 8 games without a goal and yet a team in the division above were interested in me.

Snapshots were too hard already and now they’re even faster. I don’t think I know a single person who can do them and any goals they score from them are from randomly clicking and hoping for the best.

Would be nice if the extra leagues could be earned by playing a lot. For example, Spanish League for completing so many seasons across so many saves etc. It would also provide some longetivity and you could still leave the option to buy them.

Overall, I think I prefer JFGP3 as it just clicked better. The only thing better in this is the interface.

Only one bug really anoys me (and I didn’t read it here) My manager always give me around 5/10 rating no matter how hard I train (if I don’t train it goes to 3) and no matter how many times I get a 10 for every training skill and for the matches I played. What do I have to do to make it go higher?

JP: Our subheading is indeed “FREE online games”, which is why you can play Jumpers for Goalposts 4 completely free of charge. Nobody’s forcing you to get extra leagues, but if you want to then you have to accept that at the end of the day these games do cost a lot of money to make. Your choice whether you decide to or not – we don’t expect everyone too, which is why it’s not an essential feature.

We’ve fixed a whole host of bugs with the game, but just need to do some testing before rolling it out to the wider world (in games like these, fixing one bug has a habit of breaking other things!)

Micael – Doubtful, I’m afraid. The game is supposed to be about you the player, rather than team mates.

Now my player has reached the grand age of 25, I thought I would highlight some good / bad things with the latest release.

1. I got into the England squad whilst only 21!, I won the World Cup twice without having to play any additional seasons. So far I have played about 40 international games.

2. I love that you have split the goals scored and the assists, this is a great feature, it would be excellent if you could also add games played. I would love to know how many games I played in total along with the goals and assists.

3. I noticed that the negotation of your contract can lead to you getting a reduction in salary (in my case from 33,000 to 8,000), which seems a bit unfair.

4. As many others have mentioned your manager ratings seems impossible to increase above 5.5, the same is true for the agent.

5. It is also impossible to get a transfer from one premier league team to another one, if you do dare to ask for a transfer you only receive offers from teams in divisons below the PL.

6. A few times each season the game freezes, however, unlike previous versions of the game you do not automatically lose the game, in this version you are made to replay the match.

7. Would love to know what the maximum salary you can achieve is?

8. I have won the club cup three times but you do not get any achievement reward for doing so.

9. when you win the WC or Club Cup your games, goals, assists are not credited to your running totals, could this be included in any upgrades?

10. Also would be nice to have next to your club statistics all WC and Club Cup games listed with games played, goals scored and assists, especially a running total of international appearances.

Love the new version. however, I have the following problems:

1. When my salary is renegotiated it does not show me the salary but “[cost]” instead. I never know what is my salary.

Spotted one bug however, as one other person has noted, when a pass is successfully completed but the NPC misses, you lose ratings for it and the commentary says “Poor pass by (Surname)”.

Also, the ratings seem to drop very, very quickly.

There is a major problem with this game…. so ive started playing and ive moved up the leagues… then as soon as i sign for manchester utd the game started freezing and it effects my whole computer… so i moved to newcastle lol… it worked fine with them up until the end of the season when i got called up to england then the same thing happened again… it really is quie frustrating… sort it out please.
